Juror Kimberly Varnadoe, Associate Professor of Art at Salem College, is a printmaker and photographer, who exhibits in North Carolina and throughout the Southeast.  She specializes in innovative studio techniques, combining experimental photography, printmaking and book arts.  She is a juried member of Associated Artists of Winston-Salem and President of Artworks Gallery.  Recently she created a series of 20 x 24 Polaroid emulsion lifts.  She earned a BFA from The University of South Alabama in 1983 and an M.F.A from The University of Memphis in 1991. 

At the opening reception on October 10,  President John Reidy awarded prizes as follows:  1st Place--$250, 2nd Place--$175, 3rd Place--$125.   Three Honorable Mentions also received $25 prizes.  An Artists' Choice Award, voted by the exhibitors themselves was chosen as well.

The winners include: 1st Place -- Jason Lancaster - "Bum Knee"; 2nd Place -- Vance Blalock - "In The land of No Parting"; 3rd Place --- Helen Etters - "A Girl and Her Duenna; after Murillo";  Honorable Mention -- Tyler Giroux - "Meltdown"; Honorable Mention -- Dick Kuch - "Darfur"; Honorable Mention -- Dee Young - "Lewisville Square Clouds"; Artists' Choice -- William Huffman - "Red Truck"
