Mike Smith is a native of Ohio where, over the years, he established himself as a folk artist and achieved national recognition for his whittled pieces, sculptures and bas relief profile portraits.  He attended the Columbus College of Arts and Design on a Special Student scholarship.  He taught art and woodcarving in seminars in the public school system.  Mike and his wife Marthe live in Kernersville and he is now establishing himself in North Carolina.  Contact him at marthe_smith@msn.com or 336-644-0210.
